INFORMATION FOR INCOMING STUDENTS

HOW TO ENROLL: Any student can enroll. They must go through the online 4J School Choice Lottery regardless of attendance area. (Information about 4J’s school choice program.)
IMPORTANT DATES:
January 1…… Online application period for 4J School Choice Lottery opens for in-district students
January 31… Deadline to submit in-district 4J School Choice Lottery Applications
March 1…….. Online application period for 4J School Choice Lottery opens for out-of-district students
March 31….. Deadline to submit out-of-district 4J School Choice Lottery Applications
Any time after May 1 students can still apply through the online 4j School Choice Lottery and may be accepted as space becomes available.
Spanish and French Immersion students will be enrolled in Eugene IHS without the lottery process because they entered their immersion program through the lottery in elementary or middle school. However, they do need to submit the Eugene IHS Enrollment Form to the Eugene IHS office at South or Sheldon by the January 31st deadline. This form will be included in a special mailing to Spanish and French immersion families.

- Requirements to earn the honorary Eugene IHS Diploma:
- Pass all Eugene IHS courses in eleventh and twelfth grades*
- Submit a final draft of the Extended Essay research paper (completed during junior year in IB Seminar, which is a requirement to pass that class)
- Complete 3 years (3 credits) of world language study
- Complete 100 hours of CAS (Creativity, Activity, and Service) during junior and senior years
- Complete all requirements for the high school diploma
*Travel and/or study abroad may substitute for part of or all of one year. All interested students should meet with the Head Teacher if they are considering travel during junior or senior year.
