We were honored to welcome Ms. Evie Banko as a special guest speaker on February 12th. Ms. Banko is a Holocaust survivor, who immigrated to Portland with her parents as a child and who has lived there ever since. She has dedicated her life to Holocaust education, and she traveled with her daughter, a retired Portland Public Schools teacher, to South Eugene HS to speak to a group of IHS students about her life and experiences as a survivor.
